Car Rental & Fleet Management Platform

Go2Cars Australia

An end-to-end platform that runs Go2Cars Australia's car rental business from one place: an admin web panel for the operations team, a customer web portal, and a Flutter mobile app that takes customers from booking to return without paperwork.

Overview

The project at a glance

The challenge

Go2Cars was running reservations, contracts, payments and vehicle oversight across separate tools and manual paperwork. Staff spent time chasing signatures and payment schedules, and there was no single, live view of where each car was and who had it.

Who it's for

Two groups: the operations team, who manage the fleet, bookings, contracts and payments every day; and renters, who want to find a car, prove who they are, sign and pay from their phone without visiting an office.

Our solution

We designed and built one platform with three front doors: an admin web panel that runs the business, a customer web portal, and a Flutter app for iOS and Android. All three share one Laravel back end and MySQL database, so a booking made in the app appears instantly for the operations team.

Challenges

What we had to solve

  1. 01Replacing paper contracts with legally sound digital signing
  2. 02Verifying renter identity remotely before handing over a vehicle
  3. 03Showing live vehicle locations to the operations team
  4. 04Handling recurring payments and schedules, not just one-off charges
  5. 05Keeping reservations conflict-free across the whole fleet
  6. 06Giving staff the right access without exposing everything to everyone

Our approach

How we delivered it

  1. 1

    Discovery

We mapped the full rental journey with the Go2Cars team, from enquiry to return, and listed every manual step, document and hand-off we could remove.

  2. 2

    Architecture

One Laravel API serves all three products, with a single MySQL database as the source of truth for vehicles, customers, contracts and payments.

  3. 3

    UX strategy

Customers get a short, guided flow: choose a car, verify ID, sign, pay. Admins get dense, filterable screens built for daily operational work.

  4. 4

    Technology choice

Flutter let us ship iOS and Android from one codebase. Laravel and MySQL gave a proven, maintainable back end that the business can grow on.

  5. 5

    Delivery

Agile sprints with regular demos, so the operations team could test real workflows early and shape the admin panel as it was built.
